The best place is edgeville because the smelting furnace is located conveniently close to the bank. then when you get all of the bars your heart desires you go to your bank and use varrock teleport (or walk if you cant use varrock teleport) and you go to the west varrock bank this is also conveniently close to the anvils in varrock .
1.let's do some math here .
2.let's say they are steel bars
if you do about 1 trip bars a minute in the furnace ( about 5.6k)
1.you stay for half an hour you get 270 steel bars (about 170k)
2.you stay there an hour you get 540 steel bars which adds up to around 340K an hour and amazing smithing experience
But that's if you only do 1 trip a minute which is extrememly slow you can do almost 2 trips a minute adding up to almost double that.
1.let's say you buy the coal and iron instead of mining it you spend about 150k for an hour ending up with about slightly more than 200k
2.now if you do two trips a minute you end up spending 300k if you buy the coal and iron and keep 400k all for yourself?
It is great experience for smithing and you can make about 300k avg.
