Maplestory is a 2D-Based MMORPG made by Nexon. The movement is pretty simple, arrow keys to move around. Once you've made your account and logged in, you have to make a pin, once your done that you have to choose a world.
There are a couple to choose from; Scania, Bera, Broa, Khaini, Windia, Yellonde, Bellocan, Mardia, Kradia, and Demethos. Once you've chosen a world, you choose a channel. Unlike the world selection, channel's don't matter, you can change channel's everytime you log on.
Now making your character. This part depends on your appearance and what class your going to be later on. First you choose your in game name(IGN). Some / Most are taken, but try to be creative. After you've chosen your IGN, it's time to make your character's good looks! You can choose from 3 different hairstyles and face's. You can be pale,light,tan,or dark. You can also choose your clothes and what weapon you start with. Out of the 3 weapons you can choose, Wooden Club is the strongest, with 2 attack over the Sword, and Axe. Now, the most important part of the game, choosing your stats.
Every stat is important, but there's a main stat for each class. Warrior's need Str, secondary stat is Dex. Warrior's need Str to do more damage, and Dex to actually hit the monsters. Thief's need Dex/Luk, Dex to hit the monster's and Luk to do more damage. Mage's need Int/Luk, Int to do more damage, and Luk is for basically equipment, to actually wear them. Bowmen, need Dex/Str, same as the rest, Dex to hit, Str to damage. Pirate, a new class that recently has come out, they need Dex/Str. Now, your journey begin's.
How to attack? How do I jump? How to battle? Well, CTRL is to attack, ALT is to jump. You can change this by pressing the keyboard looking thing in the bottom right corner, or by pressing the hotkey . You can change everything, and put skill's, potions, and other useful item's here for fast use.
Now, you found out how to battle and all of a sudden you....Level Up! Well, on your first level up, your stat and skill window open up. Depending on your class you add what stat you need, and for your beginner skill's they don't really matter.
