so the biggest single missing feature that would be so useful to all kinships alike is being able to make an alliance system that works. This is something that we have wished for the longest time would be implemented. Sure you can make UserChannels and friends list people up but it never quite works.
First of all you have to get all members of both kinships to join the UserChannels and read them. Then it is always too hard to know (because of the limitations of the friends list) who is online in the other kinship.Alliances would be a huge help to players trying to get together groups with people of like minds and attitudes that we can trust.
People sometimes do not like Pick Up Groups (PUGs) because of random quality of players you can get. PUG's are quite honestly a pain most times. Most people prefer to quest with those they trust or those who in a chain of trust. Some kinships die because they aren't quite big enough to hold people who want bigger groups yet what makes up that kinship is really quite special. Also merging two kinships is hard and messy.
The way we see it working is the leaders of two kinships would make an official alliance and in the social panel you would see an extra tab that would have the players who are online from the allied kinship. A full roster would be interesting but probably a waste of resources.
On a user level(The lord of rings gold), in the Kinship tab of the Social panel the Kinship tab would be turned into an "Allegiances" tab - or something similar - and would have two sub-tabs, "Kinship" and "Alliance" tabs. In the Kinship sub-tab, it would look exactly as it does now. In the Alliance tab, there would be a collapsed list with the names of all the kins in the alliance. Until you expand a specific kinship, the users online wouldn't be retrieved from the server and so there wouldn't be any extra lag just opening the Social panel, or even the Kinship or Alliance tab.
