When adding monster information, first select the enemy to attack so the target box appears, then cancel attacking by clicking the ground or walking. Mouse over the target box and it will tell you the monster's level(Dream of Mirror Gold), class, and elemental attack and defense.
You can get the HP of a monster by using the Hunter skill SneakPeak, if you're not a Hunter(domo gold), no worries, someone else can com by and edit it who is. For figuring out what the special skill is, you have to look at the difference between it and normal attacks. For instance the possible things you are looking at are changes in: stats, damage, range, area damage, and conditions.
You can tell if there are stat changes by seeing if the other changes last for more than one attack.
Damage changes are simple to spot but kind of difficult to calculate. Basically, grab an approximately average damage value that the monster does to you normally, and one he does to you during the skill. Divide the one during the skill by the normal one and you'll be left with a %. Just mark in the description that it's approximate.
Range is easy to spot, especially if you're running away. Normal monsters have generally the same range as each other, where boss monsters have a rather elongated range. Most boss monsters as I can tell don't have range changing skills. You don't really need to put a value of how much longer the range is, we are fairly certain it's a static amount.
